Wendy's is facing a shortage of beef. The fast food restaurant chain advertises that it uses fresh, never frozen meat. Keeping that in stock during the COVID-19 pandemic is proving difficult.
Packing plants across the country are facing challenges as they've been forced to slow down production or close because of worker safety concerns.
“These facilities are elbow to elbow, shoulder to shoulder type work, typically,” American Farm Bureau Federation economist Michael Nepveux told CBS Chicago. “You’re going to see a slowdown in the amount of food coming out of these facilities.”
