American Farm Bureau Federation’s Will Rodger was quoted in a Salon article on how the Trump administration’s trade policies could impact American agriculture. “But while Trump can perhaps declare this a victory…American farmers will be paying a big price,” noted Salon.
Rodger, AFBF policy communications director, expressed concerns farmers have about the current trade situation. “The U.S. and China have a number of long-standing trade disputes. We hope and expect these can be worked out at the negotiating table without resorting to tariffs,” he told Salon. “We understand there are proposals in the works to make farmers whole in the event of economic losses that might result from tariffs.”
