American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall was quoted in a New York Times article on the recently announced agriculture trade assistance package. “The Trump administration announced on Tuesday that it would provide up to $12 billion in emergency relief for farmers hurt by the president’s trade war,” noted the Times. Duvall explained Farm Bureau’s appreciation for the package, but pointed out that it is a short-term fix. “We are grateful for the administration’s recognition that farmers and ranchers needed positive news now, and this will buy us some time,” Duvall told the Times. “This announcement is substantial, but we cannot overstate the dire consequences that farmers and ranchers are facing.”
