The National Review quoted American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall in an article on the Waters of the U.S. rule being rescinded. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt is restoring order with his recent decision on WOTUS “which purported to expand the application of the Clean Water Act and empower the federal government to regulate essentially any standing body of water and the lands adjacent to it,” explained the Review.
Duvall discussed how the rule was not really about clean water. “It was a federal land grab designed to put a straightjacket on farming and private businesses across this nation. That’s why our federal courts blocked it from going into effect for the past two years,” he said.
