#WomenInAg recognizes the contributions of women involved in agriculture during Women’s History Month (March). AFBF is proud to salute Lorenda Overman, a North Carolina farmer and Farm Bureau leader!

Overman and her family grow corn, wheat and soybeans. They also operate a 2,000-head sow farrowing farm and a 7,500-head finishing floor.

Overman was elected to the American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee in 2015 and also serves on North Carolina Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. She is a member of the North Carolina Pork Council’s executive board and the ag committee for her county.

The American Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership program engages women with the training and education they need to become powerful advocates for today’s agriculture. The program provides women with leadership training, communication skills, and networking to strengthen their ability to encourage positive change in their communities and in the agricultural industry.
