The House on Thursday passed a bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. The American Health Care Act of 2017 (H.R. 1628) would also repeal the health insurance tax, end penalties on employers that fail to purchase health insurance for their workers and eliminates penalties for individuals who fail to purchase health insurance.
The bill will be sent to the Senate, where lawmakers have said they will draft their own legislation, and that they will be very deliberate in doing so, indicating it will be some time before President Donald Trump will sign an ACA repeal and replace measure.
